Work Hours/Shift: PRN Evenings You Will Be Responsible For:
Assess, reassess, develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of
care, as a member of the multidisciplinary care team, in
conjunction with the patient and patients family. The lactation
consultant will: Obtain and document an appropriate history of the
breastfeeding mother and child.
Systemically collect objective and subjective information,
including but not limited to physical appearance and health status
of mother and baby.
Assessment information will be discussed with the mother,
documented in the medical record, and communicated to the primary
health care provider as appropriate. Qualifications
What You Will Need: Associate Degree in Nursing.
Skill in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for
the breastfeeding mother and baby acquired through 1-2 years of
experience as a lactation consultant.
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State
Certification through the International Board of Lactation
Achieves and maintains NRP certification within first year of
Job Summary: The lactation consultant focuses on helping
breastfeeding women and families define and achieve their
breastfeeding goals. The lactation consultant will act as a member
of the interdisciplinary team to obtain optimal clinical outcomes.
The lactation consultant will adhere to the goals, philosophy,
standards, and guidelines of Texas Health Mansfield.
