- Experience in Critical Care Nursing and/or Neuro Intensive Care
Nursing
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to work closely with and communicate effectively to
entity executives, department leaders, physicians, and clinical
staff about data and analytical strategies and how they align with
clinical process
- Demonstrated performance in project management, data analysis
and critical thinking to reach logical conclusions and facilitate
improvement in saving lives, saving time and/or saving
resource.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience,
including but not limited to nursing leadership, project leadership
experience, quality management or project management,
organizational readiness, accreditation, patient safety, or
performance improvement initiatives, etc.
- Obtain NIHSS Stroke Certification within 6 months of job hire
and maintain such certification annually
- Current certification in performance improvement or quality
healthcare or equivalent required within 18 months of hire (ex:
PMP, CPHQ, CAPM, CPMP)
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and prioritize opportunities
[internal and external], establish a vision for improvement and
create a compelling need for change.Job Roles
- Responsible for using robust process improvement tools and
methodology to develop, deploy and diffuse both improvement
initiatives in alignment with key strategic priorities
- Will participate in all Joint Commission and/or DNV surveys as
it relates to stroke
- Manage numerous complex initiatives that span one or
improvement projects
- Full cycle project ownership from initiation, deployment, and
completion for several minor initiatives simultaneously
- Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving
environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate
personnel
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of project management,
process improvement and performance improvement methods spanning
multiple approaches [including GEMBA, LEAN, DMAIC, PDSA,
brainstorming, etc.]
- Deliver appropriate and effective executive level
communication
- Develop, educate and lead entity specific stroke/neuroscience
teams
- Will participate in all readiness activities to assist the
quality department team
- Provide workgroups, committees and taskforces with exceptional
facilitation, educational and communication skills [both verbal and
written]
- Use effective project management techniques to prioritize,
charter, scope, and facilitate projects in a way that aligns with
the strategic goals of the organization; working independently to
complete projects according to agreed-upon project timelines,
achieving milestones and deliverables as a part of the plan
- Manages and communicates operational plans for design,
deployment and diffusion of project work with reports to senior
leaders as requested
- Work with Quality Director to monitor staff performance and
drive compliance with all stroke metrics
- Advanced use of desktop applications to facilitate project work
and performance improvement
- Use proven methods to work effectively with colleagues, to
organize and lead improvement teams, handle crucial conversations
and provide strong consultative support
- Motivate, influence and engage entity leaders, staff, and
physicians to adopt and execute process improvements
- Establish practices, templates, policies, tools and
partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the
organization
- Work alongside senior leadership and/or clinical leaders to
co-design experiments to test the impact of multiple changes on
process outcomes; determine the appropriate scale for tests of
change; demonstrate expertise in moving from testing to
implementation - building proven changes into the fabric of the
organization and holding gains.

surveys, regulatory inspections, unscheduled visits, monitoring,
