We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an
Serve as a resource to all referring physicians for best
practice in physician coding and billing opportunities related to
hospice and home health oversight.
Guidance to the corporate hospice team and supporting local
medical directors for best practice for the hosting of
interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings and in the resolution of
conflict and/or potential ethical issues.
Utilizes appropriate resources to maintain knowledge and skills
for the most up-to-date delivery of hospice and home health patient
care in all settings including regulatory/reimbursement guidelines
and integrates into clinical practice.
Work collaboratively with the corporate clinical and compliance
officers in the development and consistent review of clinical
protocols, emergency care procedures, and patient care
Participates in quality improvement initiatives and programs;
identifies opportunities for quality improvement in patient care
Corporate point of contact and customer service support for any
physician related service failures or opportunities for
Education: Completion of medical education and relevant
residency training required.
Experience: Work experience in internal medicine, geriatrics,
palliative medicine or other relevant field of medicine required.
Work experience in a certified hospice program and/or home health
as medical director.
License/Certification: Physician licensure by the State of Texas
as a Doctor of Medicine or osteopathy required; board certification
in hospice and palliative medicine preferred.
Valid driver’s license with an automobile that is insured in
accordance with state and/or agency requirements and is in good
working order required.
