Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Clinical Nursing Duration: Temp Only, 13 weeks Shift: 12hrs AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC (Mandatory), PALS/ENPC preferred Must-Have: 2 years of ED experience required, Epic experience highly preferred, trauma center experience highly preferred Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who coordinates patient care delivery by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems. The RN develops and implements an individualized plan of care and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for their patients by assisting them to transition through the healthcare encounter without preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions based on each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee. This position involves staffing within 24x7 hospital inpatient and outpatient departments. Essential Functions of the Role: Using clinical reasoning, conducts accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards. Identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs. Develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing plan of care. Modifies the plan to meet clinical outcomes. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, including nursing-sensitive indicators. Supports evidence-based practice changes through research utilization and experiential learning. Creates a compassionate, supportive, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families. Develops therapeutic relationships with patients and families while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Recognizes, appreciates, and incorporates a patient's and family's unique differences into an individualized plan of care. Preserves and protects the confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients and families. Creates individualized plans that accurately reflect patient and family values and goals. Facilitates learning for patients and families and integrates appropriate education throughout the continuum of care. Collaborates with colleagues and community to develop and implement an integrated plan of care. Recognizes resources are limited and considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in delivering patient care. Contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues through ongoing professional growth. Key Success Factors: Knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
