Job Description:
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking a compassionate
and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The
role is critical in maintaining the health and welfare of inmates
at our federal correctional facilities. This position demands a
high level of professionalism and adherence to strict compliance
with all applicable health care standards. As a Registered Nurse
with BOP, you will be at the forefront of our commitment to
providing top-notch medical care in a secure and humane
environment. Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to
inmates. Perform initial health assessments and participate in the
planning of individual care plans. Administer medications and
treatments as prescribed. Monitor ongoing health conditions and
respond to medical emergencies. Educate inmates on health
maintenance and disease prevention. Maintain accurate and detailed
medical records in accordance with legal requirements. Collaborate
with physicians, therapists, and other medical and non-medical
staff. Ensure that healthcare practices comply with federal
regulations and standards. Strong clinical skills with ability to
handle medical emergencies Excellent interpersonal and
communication abilities Proficient in medical software and
electronic health record (EHR) systems Ability to work
independently and make critical decisions under pressure Knowledge
of nursing care procedures and protocols Strong ethical framework
and ability to maintain confidentiality Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Current Registered Nurse
(RN) license valid in the state of practice Basic Life Support
(BLS) Certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
certification is advantageous
